Autism Bricks UK (ABUK) is a not-for-profit social enterprise supported by Specialist Autism Services, working exclusively for and with adults with Autism. Everybody at ABUK lives and breathes all things LEGO®. We sell new and preloved bricks and offer a wide range of LEGO® services.
ABUK is run by a fantastic team of individuals with Autism, staff, and volunteers with a passion for LEGO®. Our headquarters are located in Bradford City Centre, and our team members live across Yorkshire.
How a passion for LEGO® led to the creation of Autism Bricks UK.
Autism Bricks began its journey in April 2016, founded by a group of adults on the Autism Spectrum who were passionate about all things Lego®.
The idea for Autism Bricks was inspired by the success of the Lego® project carried out during the Leeds Lord Mayor’s charity fundraising events of 2015/2016.
Since then, we have had thousands of Lego donations from around the world which has helped us to create many amazing opportunities, combining a love for Lego with the goal of supporting people with autism.
LEGO® is more than just a toy, it’s a powerful tool for creativity, self-expression, and connecting with others. The structured yet imaginative nature of Lego play offers a calming and immersive experience across all ages.
Building with Lego develops social and communication skills, spatial reasoning, planning, fine motor skills, problem solving, critical thinking abilities, and provides a rewarding sense of achievement.
At ABUK we believe that Lego is a fun and creative tool for personal growth, it combines creativity, challenge, and fun into a timeless and universal experience that transcends age, culture, and time.
We offer a wide range of LEGO® related services, whether you are looking to buy specific bricks, buy full sets, or have a bespoke project, event, or activity in mind. All of our profits are either reinvested into ABUK, to fund meaningful work experience opportunities, and to provide support for adults with autism/Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
We reinvest all of our profits back into the growth of ABUK to continue the positive work that we do.
Where possible we will use some of the money generated through ABUK to provide much needed in-house and community-based support for adults with autism.
As we grow we will be able to provide more meaningful work experience and paid job opportunities for adults with autism.
